Centerline rumble strips to be added to W61 Riverside Road

Posted

On September 5, road construction will begin on W61 (Riverside Road).  This work will take place from G36 north to the city limits of Riverside.  The contractor awarded the work for this project is Iowa Plains Signing Inc. out of Slater Iowa.

The contractor will start first with installing the centerline rumble strips.  This operation will be done with flaggers and a pilot car operation and last approximately two days.  Once rumble strips are installed the contractor will come back and repaint the centerline markings.  Weather permitting the project should not take more than 10 days.

While the road is under construction, it will remain open to thru traffic with the use of flaggers and pilot cars to assist in directing traffic within the work zone.  Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution and follow the direction of the flaggers as they travel through the work zone.  In addition, drivers should be prepared for delays when traveling the Riverside Road throughout the duration of this construction project.  Questions about this project may be directed to the Washington County Engineer’s Office at (319) 653-7731.
