The Hillcrest Academy softball team will have a new coach at the helm this summer in Kent Blossom.
According to a release from Hillcrest Academy, he returns to coach the softball team after previously leaving to raise his young family.
Blossom has in the past coached Iowa Mennonite softball and baseball.
“We are excited to have Kent on board. his familiarity with the schools, the girls and the facilities makes him a natural fit,” Hillcrest Academy Activities Director Leanne Bender said. “Add to that his experience coaching here and his desire to help Hillcrest Academy find success in all areas and I think we have found a winning combination.”
Blossom will get the opportunity to coach his daughter Meredith, a junior at Hillcrest Academy, this year.
The Ravens are coming off a 3-20 season.
