WASHINGTON

Long-time Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer, 66, Tuesday told supervisors that he is not seeking re-election when his current term expires December 31, 2024. In his brief announcement, he said he was providing sufficient time for possible candidates to come forward and to obtain the necessary petition signatures to be on the November ballot.

By contrast, all three supervisors, whose terms also expire in December, are seeking re-election to another four-year term: Jack Seward, Jr., District 1; Bob Yoder, District 2; and Stan Stoops, District 4. To date there has been no announcement from any opposition candidates for any of the three terms. For Marcus Fedler and Richard Young, the two other supervisors, their terms do not expire until December 31, 2026.
